Pressure Tubes are used to transport compressed air.

Advanced Pressure Tubes
When your infrastructure is ready, you can create Advanced Pressure Tubes. These can be made in an Assembly line. The only difference between them and normal Pressure Tubes are their stats:

There are also some special tubes which can be used to measure or control a compressed air network. Keep in mind that all these special tubes can’t form an intersection: They can only be connected in a straight line to other machines/tubes. Every recipe shown with normal Pressure Tubes also applies for the Advanced Pressure Tube version of it.

The Flow Detection Tube is able to translate the amount of air that travels through the tube into a redstone signal. For each 3mL/tick travelling through the tube it outputs one redstone strength. In formula: Redstone strength = flow(mL) / 3. In this picture for example, the Air Compressor is producing 10mL/tick, which is immeadiatly flowing through the tubes. The resulting redstone strength = 10/3 = 3.33, which is rounded down to 3.

The safety valve tube is used to limit the pressure in a tube network to a certain value. Any additional pressure will get dispersed into the open air, which means energy gets lost. To set the threshold pressure at which the Safety Valve Tube is going to disperse air, you can apply a redstone signal. The strength of this signal should be chosen as follows: Redstone strength = 15 – (2 x threshold pressure). For instance, if you want to have a threshold pressure of 1.0 bar, you should apply a redstone strength of (15 – (2 * 1.0) = ) 13.  This can be seen in the picture.

2013-06-16_20.14.04Pressure Regulator Tube
The Pressure Regulator Tube is used to limit the pressure going through the tube. The treshold pressure is determined like the Safety Valve Tube, which is by the formula Redstone strength = 15 – (2 x threshold pressure). When this threshold has been reached this tube won’t let gasses through anymore. This principal can be used as a ‘transformer’ On the input there are high pressurized gases. The Regulator Tube limits the pressure on the output to the threshold pressure. This tube can be used as ‘transformer’, as it allows a lower tiered network to be powered by a higher one.

This pipe is used to attract or repel entities towards or from this pipe. The more air you give it (as in flow, not pressure), the bigger the range is. Range(m) = 0.4x flow(mL/tick). So for instance, connecting a Air Compressor (which produces 10mL/tick) will result in a range of 4m. When you apply pressurized air the tube will blow entities away and when you make the pipe vacuum it will suck entities towards it. Vacuum is achieved with a Vacuum Pump. When item entities are close enough, they automatically will be put into an adjacent inventory, respecting sided inventories (like Furnaces).

UntitledPressure Gauge Tube
This pipe shows the pressure currently in the network. It also emits a redstone signal of which the strength = 2 x pressure(bar), so a pressure of 3.5 bar results in a redstone signal of strength 7. The gauge always will try to face you, so no wrenching needed to be able to keep an eye on the pressure in a certain network.
